How much downtime is there with Halo?
Halo can be tailored in intensity to meet your skin’s exact needs. Depending on your treatment, you may experience a few days of redness and peeling for milder treatments, or up to a week or more of redness and peeling for more intense skin renewal. Does Halo laser skin renewal hurt?
We will take every precaution to ensure you are as comfortable as possible during your treatment, including applying a topical numbing gel to your skin prior to your treatment. The Halo procedure is quite comfortable. Immediately following your treatment, your skin may feel intensely sunburned, but this sensation will dissipate within an hour or two.
Will I be able to apply makeup after my Halo treatment in Marin County, CA?
No. Immediately following your Halo session, we will coat your vulnerable skin with a non-comedogenic moisturizer. Halo is a fractional laser that breaks the surface of skin to trigger the skin’s renewal process. This means it’s essential to avoid makeup application for the first few days following your treatment to avoid infection and ensure your skin heals properly. You will also need to apply an SPF of 30 or greater in the days and weeks following your Halo session to protect your skin, speed healing, and maintain your results. What will my recovery look like?
For mild treatments, you should experience a few days of pinkness, flakiness, and peeling. For medium to intense Halo settings, you will likely experience redness the first few days, which gradually turns into a sandpaper texture.
