No matter what treatment you’re receiving, going to your first ever med spa appointment can be super exciting! There’s nothing quite as rewarding as investing in yourself by enjoying rejuvenating skin and body services. While a regular day spa offers a similarly relaxing experience, a med spa offers more advanced treatments to address skin concerns both on the surface and deep within the dermis. Knowing how to prepare for your first med spa appointment can help you get the most out of your session!

What to expect
Your med spa appointment will begin with a personal consultation, during which time we will discuss what you can expect from your treatment. The personal consultation gives us the opportunity to determine your unique skin care needs, aesthetic goals and treatment preferences. Depending on which service you’ll be receiving, we’ll discuss the process, potential side effects and timeline for results and recovery.
Tips for your first med spa appointment
Do: Ask questions. Our expert staff is here to help! Whether you have questions about when your results will show, how many treatment sessions you’ll need or even what other aesthetic services can further boost your results, don’t hesitate to ask.
Don’t: Stray from your normal skin care routine. It’s important not to do anything outside of your typical skin care regimen before your appointment, as we want to make sure we’re treating your natural skin concerns and not side effects from a new skin care product.
Do: Schedule your treatment with ample time to recover and see results. Certain services require more social downtime than others and may take a few weeks to a month for improvements to appear. This is why it’s crucial to plan ahead, especially if you’re receiving treatment before a significant event such as a wedding or graduation.
Don’t: Expose your skin to UV radiation from the sun or artificial sources like tanning beds. A number of our treatments, including chemical peels, microneedling and injectables, require you to avoid direct sun exposure for at least five days before your appointment to minimize irritation and keep your results from fading early.
